Do HTML Sitemaps Help My Rankings?.

Q: If I create an HTML sitemap page, will that help with SEO?

A: Most sites don’t need to create a sitemap page especially small sites. The page itself is of low value to search engines because it is simply a page of links with no new or worthwhile content to index.

The only time I would advise the creation of a sitemap page would be if your site has poor navigation and it is difficult for users to go from the home page to the lowest internal pages. At that point it would simply serve as a stop gap measure until site architecture is improved.
